Republic Day Celebrations

REPUBLIC DAY Though India became a free nation on August 15, 1947, it declared itself a Sovereign, Democratic and Republic state with the adoption of the Constitution on January 26, 1950. A salute of 21 guns and the unfurling of the Indian National Flag by Dr. Rajendra Prasad heralded the historic birth of the Indian Republic on that day. Thereafter 26th of January was decreed a national holiday and was recognised as the Republic Day of India. The Constitution gave the citizens of India the power to choose their own government and paved the way for democracy. Dr. Rajendra Prasad took oath as the first President of India at the Durbar Hall in Government House and this was followed by the Presidential drive along a five-mile route to the Irwin Stadium, where he unfurled the National Flag. Subject Association Activity 5 World Leprosy Day

World Leprosy Day (WLD)  It  is celebrated on the last Sunday of January. In 2023, World Leprosy Day is Monday 30 January . This international day is an opportunity to celebrate people who have experienced leprosy, raise awareness of the disease, and call for an end to leprosy-related stigma and discrimination. The theme of World Leprosy Day 2023 is “Act Now. End Leprosy.” This year's theme calls attention to three key messages: Elimination is possible: We have the power and tools to stop transmission and defeat this disease. Act now: We need the resources and commitment to end leprosy. Prioritize leprosy elimination. Reach the unreached: Leprosy is preventable and treatable. Suffering from leprosy is needless.  Under the guidance of Sreedevi miss we planned our fourth subject association activity on world leprosy day on January Monday 30.The whole program is anchored by Reshma. National Bird Day National Bird Day is observed on 5 January to raise awareness about birds that are captured or produced in captivity for monetary gain or pleasure. National Bird Day 2023: On January 5, National Bird Day is celebrated to raise awareness of the value of tiny tweets in the ecosystem. Under the guidance our HOD Sreedevi miss we planned our fourth subject association activity on national bird day. The whole program was anchored by Greeshma. Welcome speech was delivered by Neethu. Importance of this day was given by Anjitha and theme by myself. Pinky delivered a speech on Salim Ali and a video presentation was created by Ameena . The poster was  prepared by Shilpa.  Awareness of the risk of bird extinction was given by Navami.  Finally the activity program concluded with vote of thanks by Neethu.
