Teaching Practice Phase 1 Week 5
It was our first day in school after our second semester examination. The students were happy to see us back to the school. They asked us about the exams and how it went.
We entered our teaching practice for the first week of November with much interest, enthusiasm and obviously with plans and time table to finish the works at right time.
6/11/2023
Today marked the first day of teaching practice in the month of November. I reached the college by 9.15 a.m. i signed the attendance register and reached the staffroom for prayer. The prayer began by 9.40. After that we were alloted substitution classes. I got substitution in 8D for the second and third period I took class on the topics Waste Management and Sustainable Agriculture and another topic Different Agriculture Sectors respectively.
During the fourth period I had regular class in 9C. I took the topic Cellular Respiration -Glycolysis Phase and kreb's cycle.
After the lunch I had substitution in four classes.
I got substitution in 6D,7B, 7A and 5D for the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth period respectively. I conducted few quiz competition and essay writing competition.
By 3.30 p.m the school concluded with the national anthem.

There were no regular classes due to a political strike. But, we the B. ed trainees were instructed to reach the school.
I reached the school by 9.15 a.m. After the prayer we were directed to do any work. I had good conversations with all my fellow friends. We even discussed about the dates of submission of different academic works.
We all were busy writing the works assigned to us.
The lunch break as usual was at 1.00 p.m.
By 3.30 p.m the classes ended.

After signing the attendance register I was alloted substitution duties. I had no class in 9 C. The substitution duties were alloted for the 1st,4th,5th and 6th period in 8E, 8B, 8D and 6D.
During the first hour I took attendance in 8E. I asked them few questions from basic science. In the fourth period I went to 8B, students were asked to write an essay on chemical changes as they were preparing for mid term exam of chemistry on the next day.
In 8D I took the topic "new agricultural techniques".
And in 6D i conducted drawing competition.
The school dispersed by 3.30 p.m.

The midterm exams began today. Students were tensed as it was exam day.
Two exams were held, one in the morning and other in the afternoon.
I got substitution in 8D during the 4th period. I taught the topic "Indigenous Varieties"
In the afternoon, another exam was held during the sixth period.
Again during the seventh period I got class in 8D. I took class on the topic "Supporting Organisations for Agricultural practices".
10/11/2023
I reached the college at 9.20 a.m. after signing the attendance register I reached the staffroom for prayer. After the prayer teacher went to the alloted classes. We students were assigned exam duties. Me and Devika teacher was alloted duty in class 7A. Two exams were held consecutively during the third and forth hour and the exam ended by 12.45 p.m.
The lunch break began at 1.00 p.m. Soon after the lunch, the next exam began. By 2.45 the exam winded up.
By 3.30 the school dispersed after national anthem.
Co-Curricular activities
I conducted drawing competition and quiz competition during substitution hour this week in several classes.
The students of 8th standard was taught the topics Waste Management and Sustainable Agriculture/ Different Agriculture Sectors/New Agricultural Techniques/ Supporting Organisations for Agricultural practices.
9 C students were taught Cellular Respiration -Glycolysis Phase and kreb's cycle.
Teaching aids were used appropriately based on the topic taught, Follow up works like assignment were given.The reflective journal was also done this week.

Extra Curricular Activities
The students were taken for District School Arts Festival this week. The students from different categories won several prices.
OVERALL REFLECTION OF CLASSROOM EXPERIENCE
The students are given teaching manual based activity oriented class room experience for both 9th and 8th Std.
