Community Living Camp Day 1

Community Living Camp (CLC) is an essential part of the B.Ed curriculum as it provides trainees with practical experience in working with communities and understanding their needs. Here are some reasons why CLC is important for B.Ed trainees:

1. Exposure to real-life situations: CLC allows B.Ed trainees to work in real-life situations, which helps them understand the challenges and complexities of working with communities.

2. Development of teaching skills: CLC provides B.Ed trainees with an opportunity to develop their teaching skills in a community setting. 

3. Promotion of social responsibility: CLC promotes social responsibility among B.Ed trainees by encouraging them to work towards the betterment of society. 

4. Enhancement of communication skills: CLC helps B.Ed trainees enhance their communication skills as they interact with community members, stakeholders, and local authorities. 

5. Development of leadership skills: CLC provides B.Ed trainees with an opportunity to develop their leadership skills by taking on leadership roles in community projects and initiatives. 

6. Promotion of cultural sensitivity: CLC promotes cultural sensitivity among B.Ed trainees by exposing them to different cultures and traditions. 

In conclusion, CLC is an essential part of the B.Ed curriculum as it provides trainees with practical experience, develops their teaching skills, promotes social responsibility, enhances communication skills, develops leadership skills, and promotes cultural sensitivity. It prepares B.Ed trainees for a successful career in education by providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge required to work effectively in community settings.

Preparation Stage @Sabarigiri
Therefore our college organized a Community Living camp to impart us the above said qualities and competencies.

It was during the first discussion session held on December 5 at 8 pm via Google Meet, teachers and students  discussed the date and programmes for the camp. 
Following that, programme committees for each days were decided. Theme was also discussed and finalised prior to the programme.
Brochures and ID cards were designed by the student volunteers. All volunteers participated actively in the preparation stage. The student coordinator Sruthi supervised all the activities and reported to Prathibha miss as and when required. 
ദ്യുതി was selected as the name for the camp.
Final draft of the camp was prepared. On 11th, 12th and 13th we went to college for arranging all necessities for the camp. Cleaning of venues and hostels were all finished on 13th December by the respective committees.

Day 1
The camp officially began on 14th December 2023. 
NSS volunteers reported at the general hall after the camp registration process.
The registration began at 8.00am and continued till 8.45am.
Around 9.30am all volunteers gathered in the general hall for the inaguration program.
The camp was inaugurated by Dr V.K jayakumar sir, Chairman of Sabarigiri group of Institutions.
The welcome speech was delivered by Dr Meera Raj mam, our beloved principal.
Briefing of the camp was done by Prathibha ma'am, our program officer.
 The inaugural address was given by Dr V.K Jayakumar sir.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Vignesh.
The morning session began soon after the inaugral ceremony.
The class was taken by Sri Brahmanayakam mahadevan sir .Then at 12.30 we took a break for lunch and the afternoon  session was conducted by Salena, a psychologist. She took class on the topic "Happy Parenting".
The evening session began with folklore by Biju malanada and cultural activities began by 8pm with carol organized by students. It continued till 9.30 a.m.
All went to bed after dinner.
