Reflection on School experience 

I reached the school by 9.30 am and then signed the attendance register and were alloted substitution classes.

27/11/2023

The first day, I had a class in 9C during the fourth period  and I took the topic named "Vital Capacity and Tidal Volume" from the unit Breathing for Energy of their biology textbook using activity method. 
I was alloted substitution in 7B and 6 D during the third and sixth  period respectively. I made 6D students to  read a Malayalam poem from their Malayalam textbook and 7 B students, a drawing competition. The school dispersed after the national anthem at 3.30 p.m. After the class I reached  the office and signed the register.

It was holiday due to cluster meeting for teachers.

29/11/2023

On the third day I  reached the school by  9.30 am. During fourth period I got a substitution class in 9C. I took class on the topic "Mode of Respiration in different organisms" using ICT.
I had substitution during the fifth and sixth period in class 8 B and 6D. I made them do few their work.
By 3.30 p.m. The school dispersed.

On the fourth day. First two periods were free. During the third period our physical education teacher Nazida miss came to see our physical education class. We conducted physical education class for students of Class 8D and 8C. I made them do warm up exercises, jogging and a minor game. The class was concluded by 11.50 a.m. I had substitution in class 6C during the sixth period.  I asked them to read any story book placed in the class library. Then, I had class in 8D during the seventh period. I conducted a small quiz  on Let's Regain our fields topic. The school dispersed by 3.30 p.m.

1/12/2023

On the fifth day I had class in 8D during the fourth period, I took the topic "Binomial Nomenclature" from the Unit Why Classification using activity method. 
The teaching aids used included cut outs and charts. My department HOD sreedevi miss came for observation and saw my class. She gave me suggestions on how to improve the class. Later at during the fifth period I got substition in the 9 C. I took class on the topic "Respiration in Plants", the last topic from the unit "Breathing for Energy". During the seventh period I got class in 8D and took the topic "Two Kingdom Classification".


       Curricular and Co-Curricular Activities 

In this week the students of 9th standard were taught using teaching manual from their third chapter from part one of their biology textbook. They were taught topics like:
1. Vital Capacity and Tidal Volume
2. Mode of Respiration in Different Organisms.
3. Respiration in Plants
Class 8 was taught topics like: 
1. Binomial Nomenclature
2. Two kingdom classification 
Teaching aids such as slides, charts etc..were used appropriately based on the topic taught.

Physical Education class was conducted for students of 8th std.

Overall Reflection of Classroom Experience

The students of 9th standard were given teaching manual oriented and ICT enabled experience. Three teaching manuals of 9th standard and 2 teaching manual of 8th std. was completed effectively. 

Suggestions made by the Teacher Educator:

Our optional subject teacher Sreedevi miss observed my class on the topic "Binomial Nomenclature":

* Lesson template:
All components were included, Prerequisites well added.

* Set Induction:
 Intellectual curiosity and interest aroused well, prerequisites  checked, Interesting.

* Development of lesson:
Positives: Systematic, Meaningful, Purposeful teacher movement, Used open ended multilevel questions, Reinforcement frequently given, Provided scaffolding and individual attention. Sound/Voice modulation is good.
Negatives: take time for giving instructions, pointer not used properly for first chart. Didn't make students read first chart. Touched dress frequently.

Positives: handwriting legible and neat.
Negatives: chart - description overcrowded
Light colours used both in black board and chart.

* Learning Experiences:
Varied, Purposeful, adequate, Age appropriate, Life related examples used.

* Learner involvement :
Autonomy and initiatives encouraged
Active Participation, Age appropriate

* Classroom Management:
Good, Names of students were known well, stops misconduct 

*Content Mastery
Good, adequate supplementary knowledge, delivered as per prefixed objectives.

*Closure of the lessons
Summarised and reviewed all points using learning aids.

*Assessment and Evaluation
Formative assessment seen through out the session, As per prefixed objectives 

Overall Impression: Good
Needs improvement
