General Reflection
There was a small reflection session organised in the general hall for all of us. The programme began at 10.00 a.m.All students from all the 11 schools had to share their experiences.
Most of us recounted positive experiences, despite some mentioning the stresses and challenges they faced. I enjoyed my time and noted that students greatly benefited from smart classes. They were open to conversations and demonstrated a remarkable grasp of knowledge. However, I also observed that some students were distracted by non-curricular activities, impacting their focus on academics.
I successfully conducted the achievement and diagnostic tests as scheduled and completed all 30 lesson plans. I also showcased my innovative project, a newspaper, and finished my work by last week. The headmistress of my school was incredibly supportive and approachable, greatly enhancing our experience. The school offered a variety of curricular and extracurricular activities, which was a significant advantage. Additionally, my co-teacher trainees were cooperative and supportive, contributing to a wonderful overall experience.
During the general reflection, all students shared their experiences. I liked almost all of their experiences. Shilpa from the Maths department shared an innovative approach to teaching through song, which I found particularly inspiring. Mahima from Physical Science highlighted the students' enthusiasm for learning and their attentiveness, offering hope for the future despite the challenges posed by media and social media distractions.
While the overall experience was positive, there were some challenges. For instance, managing students' attention amid distractions requires innovative strategies and consistent effort. Overcoming these challenges taught me valuable lessons in classroom management and student engagement.
The feedback from my students was particularly heartening. They shared that I taught them very well and appreciated my friendly demeanour. Many expressed sadness at my departure and were happy with the content and quality of my classes, which they found very good. This positive feedback was a testament to the impact I had on them and a rewarding aspect of my teaching practice.
This teaching practice has significantly impacted my personal growth and professional development. I honed my lesson planning, classroom management, and student assessment skills. The feedback from my students was encouraging, and seeing their progress was incredibly rewarding.
Looking ahead, these experiences have solidified my aspiration to create engaging and supportive learning environments. I am committed to continuing to innovate in my teaching methods and to fostering a love for learning in my future students.
Overall, the session underscored the valuable and positive experiences we had during our teaching practice, highlighting the importance of adaptability, innovation, and support in the educational journey.
The programme concluded by 1.30 p.m.
