NAMASTE Scheme

The union budget in 2023-2024 has allocated nearly  Rs 100 crore for the National Action for Mechanized Sanitation Ecosystem (NAMASTE)  and the government is looking to enable  100% mechanical desludging of septic tanks and sewers in all cities and towns . T he process of extending the Scheme to all the   Urban Local Bodies (ULBs)   of the country has been initiated. In the month of May, an incident shook the country;  a man from a city in Maharashtra allegedly killed his 12-year-old sister because he mistook period stains on her clothes as a sign of a sexual relationship. India is home to more than 350 million women and girls who menstruate every month. However, menstruation is still a taboo and a source of shame and discrimination for many of them. In urban India, girls and women navigate a good part of their life in the public domain — a young working woman travels for hours by public transport, a teenager living in slums makes her way to school through narrow lanes, a sanitation worker begins her day before dawn cleaning the city, a vegetable vendor spends hours by her stall, and a nurse works busy 12-hour shifts. Their lives are very different, but they all navigate public spaces on a daily basis while dealing with a private aspect of their lives: their periods. Kerala gets a higher education institution ranking framework

The Kerala Institutional Ranking Framework (KIRF) modelled on the National Institution Ranking Framework (NIRF) has come into being. Higher education minister R Bindu launched the framework, the first of its kind in the country, at a function held on Kerala University’s Kariavattom campus. The state-specific institutional ranking framework as mooted by the state higher education council aims at bringing a more democratic and secular approach while ranking the higher education institutions in the state. “The KIRF would emerge as the hallmark of excellence for higher education institutions in the state. The state-of-the-art ranking system would ensure that higher education institutions in the state are objectively assessed on the basis of their academic prowess,” the minister said, adding that the KIRF reflects the social justice, scientific temper and secular mindset followed by Kerala. Theater in education is a process that uses interactive theater or drama practices that contributes a lot to the educational process. As a part of the BEd. Curriculum  our college conducted a theater practice session under the guidance of  Sri. Priyata Bharatan. We were blessed to have the presence of our beloved principal and Revathy miss, our beloved teacher. The session began around 10.00, seeking the blessings of the almighty. T ejas, a teacher trainee represented all of us and thanked all the dignitaries for inspiring us with their presence.    Welcome address was given by beloved principal. Capacity Building Programme

The Capacity Building Programme for the 2022-2024 batch was conducted on August 2, 2023 on the topic "Effective Teaching Based On Modern Psychological Concepts".  An interactive lecture on the topic was given by Sunil Kumar, former college Principal, Manjappara.  He discussed on how a teacher should teach in a classroom and lighten up the interest of the students. Some of the major points he discussed were Objectives of teaching and Skills of teaching. He conveyed how important it is to understand our strengths, weaknesses, values, and leadership style. He told that we should treat the children the way we expect them to treat us. He said as  leaders we should put in practice what we preach to earn respect. He also mentioned about the multiple intelligence theory, law of effect, law of readiness etc...
